The guy is everywhere these days. He can be seen in his very own Netflix Original comedy special, No Offense. Theo’s podcast, This Past Weekend, is one of the top comedy podcasts, garnering 3.5 million listens a month. Theo has appeared numerous times on Joe Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, and regularly on Joey Diaz’s The Church of What’s Happening Now. Shen Yun presents five thousands years of Chinese civilization in a live performance on stage. Through classical Chinese dance, breathtaking music, and gorgeous costumes, the show introduces an ancient world once lost. In May, the performance will be returning to Louisville! Shen Yun Performing Arts is a nonprofit company based in New York. It was formed in 2006 by artists from around the world who came together with a mission—to show the world what Chinese culture once was. As we embark on a new chapter for The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, we wanted to celebrate by looking back at monumental moments, milestones and supporters over the years that have made The Kentucky Center what it is today. It all started back in 1980 when The Kentucky General Assembly helped to establish a major public/private partnership to create The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts. Just like it continues to do today, it was originally created to promote state culture and tourism, provide a home for Louisville’s prominent performing arts groups, and enable citizens to see international and nationally renowned artists. Béla Fleck has reinvented the image and sound of the banjo through his remarkable performing, recording, and composing career. He has won 16 GRAMMY Awards across Folk, Pop, Jazz, Classical, and World music categories. He has received 30 GRAMMY nominations in more categories than any other instrumentalist. Having participated in many different musical ensembles – New Grass Revival, Strength in Numbers, and the Flecktones, to name a few – and collaborated with artists including Chick Corea, Edgar Meyer, and Zakir Hussain – this Louisville performance will give our audience the opportunity to enjoy Béla “solo.”
