Derby Dinner Playhouse announced the production of Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID that will play through August 9. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and Disney’s classic animated film, THE LITTLE MERMAID is a heartwarming musical adventure for audiences of all ages.

Featuring unforgettable music by eight-time Academy Award® winner Alan Menken, with lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater and a captivating book by Doug Wright, this Broadway favorite is filled with memorable songs including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” and “Part of Your World.”

The story follows Ariel, the adventurous youngest daughter of King Triton, who dreams of exploring the world above the sea. When she falls in love with the human Prince Eric, Ariel makes a dangerous bargain with the cunning sea witch Ursula, trading her beautiful voice for a chance to become human. With the help of her loyal friends, Ariel must find the courage to follow her heart and restore harmony beneath the sea before it’s too late.

 

Derby Dinner’s production was directed by Sally Scott, with choreography by Megan Bliss and musical direction by Scott Bradley. The cast features Jayce Dykstra as Ariel, Lars Hafell as Prince Eric, Elizabeth Loos as Ursula, Corwyn Hodge as King Triton, along with a talented ensemble of performers bringing this magical underwater world to life.
