Railbird Festival Stumbles Out of the Gate – Makes a Run in the Stretch

After bolting out of the gate and shattering expectations in its inaugural year in 2019, this year’s return of Railbird Festival stumbled out early with understaffed concessions resulting in multiple hour waits for food, water, cocktails and beer. Add to that the fact that themperatures were that of fa blistering hot summer afternoon in Kewntucly, and you can guess that the result will be less than met expectations from the get go. Fast forward to the Sunday, where we saw many improvement in these concessions area, Railbird employess handing out water by the case and a cclosing acts of Jason Isballe & The 400 Unit and Dave Matthews Band that quickly left the cdirected the crowds interest back to what they came for, the music, which wwthat deleivered everything as advertised and  did’t help that thready to roll in what looks to be a great weekend for outdoor music on the historic grounds of Keenland Racecourse. This year’s festival will host a blockbuster lineup of artists for its second festival — set for August 28-29 at the Grounds at Keeneland.

The world-class music festival produced by AC Entertainment and Lexington entrepreneur David Helmers announced today a top-tier headline for the weekend’s bill, including Grammy-winning jam band Dave Matthews Band and beloved Kentucky-based heroes, My Morning Jacket. Additional acts include Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Leon Bridges, Billy Strings, Black Pumas, Khruangbin, Midland, The Revivalists, Band of Horses, Margo Price and more. Railbird Festival Line-up Announcement: Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit and Maren Morris Top the List

Railbird Festival, the Lexington, Kentucky-based, world-class music festival produced by AC Entertainment and Lexington entrepreneur David Helmers, is proud to present its 2020 lineup. Grammy Award-winning artists topping the weekend’s bill include Americana standout Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit and singer-songwriter Maren Morris. The festival will return to the Grounds at Keeneland, August 22-23, 2020.

Additional acts include The Head and the Heart, Young the Giant, The Decemberists, Tanya Tucker, Trampled By Turtles, Colter Wall, Whiskey Meyers, and more. More than 30 artists will perform across three stages during the two-day festival.
