Derby Dinner Playhouse brings the award-winning Broadway sensation Come From Away to the stage August 13 – September 28, 2025.

Set in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, Come From Away tells the remarkable true story of how nearly 7,000 stranded airline passengers found unexpected refuge when U.S. airspace was shut down on September 11, 2001. In the days that followed, the locals welcomed these “Plane People” with open hearts, warm meals, music, and generosity—proving that kindness can bridge even the widest divides.

Told through 12 actors who portray both townsfolk and travelers, this uplifting musical captures the fear, uncertainty, and ultimate humanity of an extraordinary moment in history. Packed with humor, heart, and unforgettable music, Come From Away reminds us that in our darkest hours, compassion can shine the brightest.

Directed by Tina Jo Wallace with musical direction by Scott Bradley, the cast features Jennifer Pennington, Cami Glauser Baker, Elizabeth Loos, Gregory Maupin, Tai Rosenblatt, Isabel Kruse, Christina Booker, Jeffrey Hines-Mohrman, Neill Robertson, Tony Reimonenq III, David Hussey, and Katie Blackerby.
