The Louisville Zoo is excited to re-create the magic of their popular lantern festival again this year promising to be bigger and brighter than ever! If you haven’t been to an “illumination” event, this is your chance to check out one of the best around.
Dive deep and celebrate the vibrant colors of the coral reefs, see nature come to life on the 1.4 mile journey of interactive moving displays and explore ancient Chinese myths and legends, including magnificent dragons and a breathtaking phoenix tunnel. The festival includes all-new illuminated archways and larger-than-life displays allowing you to become part of the magic.
The wonder of Wild Lights is sure to create glowing smiles and bright memories for all.
In addition to the illuminated displays throughout the paved paths at the Zoo, guests can also enjoy live entertainment with captivating traditional Chinese performances including the amazing lightning-fast mask changes of Sichuan Opera, folk dances and unforgettable acrobatic acts that have been practiced for hundreds of years.
In addition, guests of age can enjoy handcrafted, specialty cocktails including the popular Asian Pear Sangria or the NEW Spiked Spiced Chai, as well as food options including the Zoo’s new Crab Rangoon Burger, savory Asian Street Fries and Spring Rolls with a delicious sweet ginger soy sauce. Also enjoy other Zoo favorites like pretzels, popcorn, ICEE, Dole Whip, and Dippin’ Dots that will be available throughout the festival.
While many of the animals will not be on exhibit in the evenings so they can rest and maintain their regular schedule, Wild Lights is an event for everyone to enjoy! This is a cultural experience designed to delight guests of all ages. It is ideal for a family outing, night out with friends, or a special date night.
Tickets prices are $16 for members, $18 for non-members and limited anytime tickets are $26. Parking is $7.
