The Stage: Broward Center for the Performing Arts
All of this season’s performances will take place in the Au-Rene Theater, the Broward Center’s grand mainstage, which offers seating for more than 2,600 guests. The Broward Center is consistently ranked among the top-performing arts venues in the nation and is regarded as one of South Florida’s premier cultural destinations.
Opened in 1991 and nestled along the New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale, the center is celebrated not only for its exceptional acoustics and striking architecture but also for the vibrant atmosphere it brings to the city. Patrons often gather on the terraces overlooking the waterfront before performances, making every visit an experience that extends well beyond the stage.
The Season Lineup
This season blends spectacle, nostalgia, and fresh voices. Here’s what’s coming:
Life of Pi
October 21-26, 2025
The season begins with Life of Pi, the Tony-winning adaptation of Yann Martel’s bestselling novel. Using astonishing puppetry and visual design, it tells the story of a boy stranded on a lifeboat with only a Bengal tiger for company. A feast for the senses, it’s a moving exploration of faith, survival, and imagination.
Water for Elephants
November 11-23, 2025
Step back to the Depression era with Water for Elephants. Based on Sara Gruen’s novel, this sweeping new musical follows a young man who joins a struggling circus and finds love beneath the big top. Part romance, part spectacle, it delivers both drama and dazzling visuals.
Les Misérables
December 16-28, 2025
A towering classic returns. Les Misérables, with its unforgettable songs and stirring story of justice, redemption, and revolution, remains one of the most powerful musicals ever staged. From “I Dreamed a Dream” to “One Day More,” this is theater at its grandest.
& Juliet
January 13-25, 2026
Shakespeare meets pop music in & Juliet, a witty reimagining of what happens if Juliet doesn’t die at the end of Romeo and Juliet. Bursting with hits by songwriter Max Martin — think Britney Spears, Katy Perry, and Backstreet Boys — it’s cheeky, feminist fun wrapped in irresistible music.
Riverdance 30 – The New Generation
January 30 – February 1, 2026
Riverdance celebrates its 30th anniversary with a refreshed production featuring a new generation of dancers and musicians. The high-energy Irish step phenomenon still thrills with its thunderous rhythms and breathtaking precision.
Back to the Future: The Musical
February 3-15, 2026
Great Scott! The iconic 1985 film comes roaring onto the stage, complete with Marty, Doc, and the DeLorean. Mixing the movie’s beloved soundtrack with new songs, Back to the Future blends nostalgia and stage magic for an electrifying ride through time.
Hell’s Kitchen
March 10-22, 2026
Inspired by Alicia Keys’ own life and set to her music, Hell’s Kitchen tells the story of a teenager navigating love, family, and ambition in 1990s Manhattan. Raw, heartfelt, and empowering, it’s a vibrant new entry in the Broadway canon.
Kimberly Akimbo
April 7-12, 2026
Closing the season is Kimberly Akimbo, winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical. The show follows Kimberly, a teen who looks decades older due to a rare condition. At once funny and poignant, it’s a quirky and deeply moving exploration of family, love, and the passage of time.
